Company History

BorgWarner is an American company formed in 1928 by the merger of Borg & Beck and Warner Gear, making it a leading supplier of powertrains and systems. In 1993, Borg-Warner Automotive Inc. was spun off from the Borg-Warner Security Corporation and became an independent company, and the KKK and Schwitzer brands were merged.

The company is headquartered in the state of Michigan. The company employs over 40,000 people and operates in 82 locations worldwide. Among BorgWarner’s main products are turbochargers, of which the company has developed a wide range for various applications in cars, trucks, and even industrial and marine applications.

In addition to turbochargers, BorgWarner also manufactures other powertrain-related parts and systems, such as transmissions, electric motors, radiators and more. It also manufactures and sells its products to some tier 1 vehicle system suppliers.

Another key market for its products is the aftermarket for cars, commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles. It is an original equipment manufacturer for almost all major automotive manufacturers worldwide and has its own manufacturing plants serving customers in Europe, America and Asia.

Its portfolio includes turbochargers for diesel and petrol engines with various technologies such as wastegate, variable geometry (VGT) and multi-stage turbochargers.

VGT turbochargers ensure precise adaptation to the relevant engine operating points and enable almost instantaneous acceleration and optimum performance. BorgWarner turbochargers for petrol engines are made of special alloys that can withstand high thermal stresses. Its regulated two-stage turbocharging (R2S®) solution for cars combines VGT turbochargers or turbochargers with boost pressure control in a compact design to improve boost pressure throughout an engine’s operating range.

We have had a distributor certificate since January 2009. We successfully continued our cooperation by obtaining a BorgWarner Thermal Systems distributor certificate in the segment of viscous couplings for engine cooling in 2010.
